| PS offers education to children of all nationalities. Normal minimum ages at 1st September, in the year of entry, as follows: Grades and Class Ages
year 1 & 2 is key stage one, year 3 - 6 is key stage two, year 7 - 9 is key stage three Reasonable exceptions may be made to this policy at the discretion of Staff and in consultation with the parent or guardian. Admission Procedure PS is a private school and admission is entirely a matter of the school management’s decision based on professional criteria and advice from the appropriate PS staff. Application for admission is made on the admissions form available with the printed brochure. You may also apply online here Assessment for admission is normally either by informal interview for the Kindergarten or an entrance test for the primary in numeracy and literacy. Children may visit the School and spend all or par a day in the appropriate age group. Leaving Procedure Three months notice of withdrawal is required or a terms’ fees will be payable in lieu of notice. Parents or Guardians are required to notify the School office in writing of the withdrawal of the student if this is to occur at any other time. Supplying Information To A ‘New’ School Unless the Executive Director has received a written request from the parent she is unable for legal and ethical reasons to respond to requests from prospective schools to invigilate entrance examinations or supply information about a student’s academic progress. Academic and Pastoral Organization Potterhouse is evolving a structure which is designed to ensure maximum effectiveness in the delivery of the curriculum and other aspects of our School programme. Three Section heads are responsible to the Executive Director for coordinating the various Departments of the academic programme: Kindergarten: 2-5 year olds Parents with particular concerns about the academic progress of their children or any other areas that relate to their general well being and development are encouraged to contact their class teachers. There are also staff who have responsibilities in their specific areas of expertise. These various responsibilities are detailed in the staff handbook and are available from the School office
