Potterhouse is developing its range of extra curricular activities. Potterhouse offers the following activities; Piano, Holiday School, Kumon Maths and English, Board games, Horse riding, Cookery, Scouts and Sports. An afternoon in the week is designated for clubs.
Cultural Activities and Sports Competitions
It is the function of the specialist Physical Education teacher to organize sports competitions. Other house activities such as cultural events will be organized by the relevant teachers.
Trips and excursions
Parents are requested to give permission for students to join school-organized trips within and outside Nairobi. These could include trekking, camping, sport or cultural trips and visits to other schools. Students will always be chaperoned by members of the teaching staff.
Educational Visits
At Potterhouse we believe that learning in the classroom can be supported by educational visits. During the course of the academic year, there are a range of such visits to complement and enhance our children’s learning in curricular areas like science, current affairs, geography, history amongst others.
Holiday School
Keeping children occupied and usefully engaged during holidays can be a challenge for parents.
Each holiday, Potterhouse runs a holiday program for children from 11 to 12 years to help keep them occupied.
This is a time of fun around a theme and includes drama, music, art, crafts, dance, movement, excursions and more. It culminates in a stage presentation and or exhibition to which parents are invited.
