This term has just flown! It seems like the other day we were welcoming you all to the new term. Indeed it has been a term packed with sports, events, activities, trips and of course playing our principal role – teaching. This has been evidenced by the good SAT results we have achieved, which we are grateful for. It has been a term like no other where the tempo has remained high, from beginning right to the end. Even as I write this, we are preparing for the annual graduation and two weekend trips to Naivasha and Nakuru. We begun with the ‘healthy week’ which teaches the value of fitness; then went on to the spiritual emphasis week where we remind the children of the importance of God in their daily lives, to sports, to sitting for SAT (Standard Aptitude Tests) exams. This is what holistic teaching is about; it involves applying what you teach to the things that are relevant and meaningful to the children’s lives. As we engaged with them we introduced mentoring sessions to discover the things that are of interest and concern to them as well as for the purpose of nurturing friendships between the students and teachers. From that point the term has been rewarding, and I sincerely want to appreciate the staff for a job well done. They have been wonderful with the children keeping their interest high and doing their work with love and dedication. What does the new academic year hold? I believe good things, as we look to God for an expanded school to provide an even better learning environment. We are adding six classrooms to the Key stage 2 and 3 block which will be used for Art, Music and a myriad other lessons. With the year 9 having made their subject choices for O levels, we begin a new phase in the school as they prepare to sit their exams in 2012. These are exciting days ahead of us Allow me to express gratitude to the Board who have been working so hard to ensure that we realize our vision for a first rate Christian School sooner than later. And for you parents- you are there twenty four seven as the future unfolds one day at a time for the children. Thank you. Have a blessed break with your children and for those who are traveling we wish you safe travel. Sincerely,
Florence Wanyoike
